Moving Mind
Khem Raj September 06, 2024 #metaA famous Koan goes like this:
Sitting outside the monastery Two monks were arguing about the flapping flag
First one said, "Look, the flag is moving" Second one said, "No, the wind is moving"
Sitting inside the monastery zen master happens to be listening and said
"Not the flag, Not the wind, Mind is moving"
It tells us what we perceive as "moving" is actually a mental construct. Sometimes, we see different parts and interpret it in different ways which might give rise to arguments and conflicts. Like the junior monks we get fixated on ideas and concepts and stop to seek more.
In computer programming world, how many times have you seen endless debates on choosing right programming language. C is better than C++, rust will eradicate all memory related bugs, Golang is so simple to learn ...
Use right tool for right job is what Zen master would say I think.
What is your assertion ?
