Deeper in stack, more time to spend

This means it will be hard to rip it apart if needed, the changes to it will require extra efforts. It can also impact the whole product quality more than something in a leaf component.
Know the dependency graph of your products and identify the components w.r.t. there location in chain and assign appropriate severity to issues pertaining to them.
