It is for humans !
If the process is draining the humans then it has failed. Therefore, designing the process is subjective, it is important to understand how the users of the process sees it.
A simple question - Is it helping me do my job? Is it adding to the complexities on the name of collaboration scalability.
As a process designer, one might not see the picture clearly from user's perspective, so think about how can you reach out to them and understand their perspective
